(OD
) Master Parachutist Wings of the United States Air Force
.
Master parachutist is the highest rating of static line parachutist. These wings were designed for wear on the combat uniform and are subdued to prevent glare from a shiny or colored badge. The star and wreath above the canopy indicates that the wearer is an expert paratrooper who has successfully completed Jump master School, has a minimum of three years on jump status with an operational airborne unit and has a minimum of 65 parachute jumps from an aircraft in flight.
This is an obsolete style badge that was phased out when the Air Force switched to the their current uniform.
These badges were worn by Para-Rescue and Combat Control Team Members and other USAF airmen who were airborne qualified.
These wings are like those illustrated in the Bragg and Turner book,
PARACHUTE WINGS
as B&T 1138. This is the combat subdued version with blue on OD. This badge is 100% authentic and was obtained from U.S. military sources. These wings were worn on the old OD cotton combat fatigue uniform. I have had them for over 40 years. These are getting scarce now days. See Photos. A nice addition to any parachute wing collection. See my other auctions for more parachute wings and elite unit memorabilia.

AIRBORNE!
With the recent huge increase in U.S. postal rates and requirement for delivery confirmation tracking, we have had to increase the shipping costs for both domestic and overseas mailings.
Additionally the cost of International mail has more than doubled so we may soon have to cease mailing items outside the U.S.
Thank you for understanding.
